A WORD ABOUT US

We come from many different places, but what unites us is our passion. At Moment Factory, each new project is a blank page awaiting the creativity and talent of our whole team, no matter the individual responsibilities, roles, or fields. Our desire to innovate, to take risks, and to learn from our mistakes and from each other is what allows us to create collective projects that go above and beyond. Today, thanks to a team of 450 creative minds, we have been able to create immersive multimedia environments for artists, museums, airports, brands, theme parks and events, as well as our signature shows. No matter the canvas – be it film, lighting, multimedia architecture, sound design, special effects, or interactive projects – the thirst for experimentation and innovation is at the core of our DNA.

YOUR TEAM

Our team, the Cities Unit, imagines and designs immersive sensory experiences where technology, urban space, and architecture harmonize. We create unique environments where every physical and digital detail is meticulously thought out to transform public space and transport users into new realities. Our passion: combining the latest technological advances with our creativity to physically immerse the public at the heart of our experiences, making the city and the built environment true storytelling tools.

YOUR MISSION

Your mission: Bridge the gap between public or architectural space and the digital content we create, in order to shape the final experience. From receiving 3D models provided by architects to creating sculptural digital canvases, you will help the team and clients visualize our creations in context.

By focusing on innovation, sharing, and multidisciplinary collaboration, you will ensure seamless integration of technology into space, navigating with ease between the agility of temporary projects and the technical rigor of permanent installations. You will work alongside direction to conceptualize the architectural vision of our experiences and push the boundaries of each project by generating pre-visualizations of immersive environments.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participation in the Creative Process and Digital Architecture

  • Participate in the creative process by contributing conceptual ideas during ideation sessions and developing creative directions with the production team.
  • Conceptualize, model, and deploy virtual environments and digital architectures for experiential, interactive, or live projects.
  • Develop high-quality still renderings and dynamic video animatics (Archviz) to present (pitch) and evolve creative concepts internally and with clients.
  • Create highly detailed 3D models and environments. Apply parametric or procedural design approaches to complex canvases to optimize work.
  • Propose spatial solutions that respect the target audience's engagement and emotional levels while staying within the allocated budget.

Collaboration and Integration (Motion Design)

  • Seamlessly integrate content from our motion designers into the 3D canvases you create.
  • Work closely with the content design team. A willingness to refine your motion design skills will enable better synergy between physical space and digital projection surfaces.

Production Monitoring

  • Assist production and technical direction to ensure rigorous follow-up during production (including reviewing technical drawings) and supervise the integration of scenic and architectural elements.
  • Participate in site visits and project pre-test workshops to enrich and solidify choices regarding shapes and layouts.

Research, Development, and Knowledge Sharing

  • Technological Watch: Stay constantly on the lookout for new developments in multimedia, architecture, parametric design, real-time creation, and immersive experiences.
  • Key Resource: Assist, train, or mentor the team in connection with your technical and artistic knowledge, adapting your professional background to the studio's various projects.

🚀

YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

  • Experience: Proven track record in 3D modeling, supported by a strong portfolio highlighting architectural, environmental, or experiential design projects.
  • Technical mastery: Excellent command of industry 3D modeling and rendering software (e.g., Rhino, Vectorworks, SketchUp, Maya, or Cinema 4D).
  • Animation and coding: Strong foundations or a keen desire to learn motion design tools and parametric/algorithmic design (e.g., Houdini, Grasshopper, or After Effects).
  • Archviz capabilities: Sharp eye for composition, lighting, and camera movements, both for still image photography direction and video. Good knowledge of real-time rendering engines (e.g., Twinmotion or Unreal) is an asset.
  • Design culture: Background in design or architecture is a strong asset; an excellent understanding of and passion for the built environment are essential.
  • Leadership and innovation: Strong ability to take ownership of spatial design in order to successfully lead major digital architecture projects.
  • Interest in digital exploration: While the main focus is designing physical canvases, you possess the curiosity needed to seize opportunities to explore creating purely digital environments.
  • Teamwork and synergy: Strong ability to collaborate, communicate ideas visually, and thrive within our Montreal creative hub.
  • Knowledge and interest in the AI field.
