They intervene at every stage of development, supporting and guiding the Moment Factory teams. YOUR MISSION
Reporting to the Director of Legal Affairs, the Senior Legal Counsel specializes in commercial law and, more specifically, entertainment law. You will join the legal team responsible for all of the company’s legal matters.
In this role, you will collaborate with all sectors of the company, from administrative teams to project management teams. Your judgment, your experience in contract negotiation and drafting, and your ability to resolve complex legal issues will be the pillars of your success. Finally, your communication skills with senior team members will be essential for you to thrive and make a difference within Moment Factory.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contractual Strategy: Design, draft, and negotiate a wide range of international contracts (co-production, distribution, complex IP licensing) to ensure the global reach of our works.
Strategic Counsel: Act as a strategic advisor to executives and business partners on innovative transaction structures and negotiation strategies.
Intellectual Property Management: Establish and protect the studio's IP rights within the framework of global operations for shows, interactive experiences, and emerging technologies.
Expansion and Innovation: Structure international joint ventures and business ventures, while defining best practices for the use of emerging technologies.
Business Relations: Develop and maintain long-term relationships of trust with the studio's strategic partners and major clients worldwide.
International Relations: In collaboration with the Director of Legal Affairs, develop and maintain a network of external legal counsels in jurisdictions and fields of law necessary for the Company’s activities, while serving as the point of contact for cross-jurisdictional legal matters.
Legal Affairs: Assist the Director of Legal Affairs in implementing and reviewing international corporate structures and, if necessary, setting up new local foreign entities.
Management: Assist in organizing and overseeing document management and certain administrative elements specific to Legal Services.
YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES
Be a member of the Barreau du Québec for at least 10 years.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial law, specifically in contract negotiation and drafting.
Mandatory experience in intellectual property law and/or entertainment law.
Expertise in negotiating and drafting co-production agreements, with a strong understanding of the inherent complexities.
Proficiency in creating and negotiating complex licensing agreements, aimed at ensuring full protection of intellectual property rights.
Knowledge and experience in developing and negotiating international joint venture agreements.
Strong expertise in data protection (GDPR, Law 25) and new technology law, enabling you to oversee issues related to artificial intelligence and big data management.
Extensive experience in advising, drafting, and negotiating contracts covering the entire project life cycle (from creation to global operation): live shows, events, immersive and interactive experiences, and new technologies.
Significant international experience, particularly in managing complex negotiations and cross-border transactions. This experience may have been acquired in-house (corporate legal department) or within a law firm specializing in entertainment law.
Exceptional skills in drafting, negotiation, analysis, and organization.
Knowledge of the Middle Eastern legal ecosystem (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia) is an asset.
Knowledge and / or interest in the AI field.
